Jayne Ann (Brown) Dresser, 82, of North Smithfield, RI

Jayne Ann (Brown) Dresser, 82, of North Smithfield, RI died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She was the wife of the late Francis A. Dresser who died in 1999. 

Jayne was born June 23, 1936 in Northbridge, MA, the daughter of Hubert John and Edna Helen (Martin) Brown and graduated from Uxbridge High School, class of 1954. She married Francis Alden Dresser and together they raised a busy family of eight in their North Smithfield home. 

Her nurturing spirit created a home filled with birthday and holiday celebrations, warm baked goods, extended family who referred to her as “Mrs. D”, and lasting memories which she embraced throughout her life. She enjoyed crocheting, needle point, reading and working in her flower garden. 

She joins in heaven her husband, Francis, son Jeffrey, daughter Jenni Tucci, sister Dorothy Murray, and her parents. 

Left to mourn her passing are four sons, Craig A. and his wife Jan Dresser of Medway, MA, Bryan D. Dresser of North Smithfield, RI, Brad F. and his wife Renee Dresser of Goffstown, NH, and Daniel C. and his wife Cheri Dresser of North Smithfield, RI; two daughters, Debi and her husband Jon Curry of Gray, ME and Rebecca J. and her husband Kevin Shields of Uxbridge; a brother, Hubert John Brown, Jr. of Blackstone, MA and a sister, Kristy Ruth Greene of NC; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Visiting hours will be held Friday August 31, 2018 from 5-7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church Street, Whitinsville.
