John G. DeAngelo, 67, of Milford passed away Friday March 3, 2023 after battling a brief illness at Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford with his family by his side. He was the husband of Cheryl A. (Fex) DeAngelo.
Mr. DeAngelo was born in Malden in 1955 the son of the late John and Mary (Mangan) DeAngelo and was a graduate of Northeastern University, earning an accounting degree.
John was devoted to his faith, loved his family dearly and believed in giving back to his community. He was a volunteer, Co-Founder and President of the Daily Bread Food Pantry in Milford, a non-profit organization, close to his heart for nearly 32 years. He was a communicant and Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Milford for many years. In addition, he was an active member of Sacred Heart Human Services which use to hold parties at various nursing homes in the area, held functions for underprivileged children in Worcester, and established the Giving Tree at Sacred Heart Parish. He enjoyed history, theology and riding trains. He was a member of the Waushakum Live Steamers Club in Holliston and was well versed in the subject of the Battle of Gettysburg in PA.
Mr. DeAngelo was the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Operations, Finance & IT at Demakes Enterprises in Lynn for the past 25 years.
In addition to his wife Cheryl of 41 years, he is survived by two sons, Francis P. and his wife Christine DeAngelo of Milford and Peter F. and his wife Chelsea DeAngelo of Milford; a grandson, Dominic DeAngelo; a brother Michael and his wife Grace DeAngelo of Derry, NH; a niece, Mary DeAngelo of Derry, NH; a nephew, John and his wife Jen DeAngelo of Derry, NH and great nieces and a great nephew.
Visiting hours will be Monday March 6, 2023 from 4 – 8 PM in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 7, 2023 at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 E. Main Street, Milford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rte. 109, Milford.
