Leeanne B. Swift, 74, of Stratford CT

Leeanne B. Swift, 74, of Stratford CT died Monday evening (August 8, 2022) at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport CT after an illness. She was the beloved sister of John Edward Swift III and his wife Margaretta of Shepherdstown West VA and Jacquelyn Ross and her husband Vincent of Culpeper VA.
Leeanne was born in Brookline MA, the daughter of the late John Edward Swift Jr. and the late Rita Florence (Harrington) Swift. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Alexandria VA, Class of 1966. She was also a graduate of the College of the Sacred Heart in San Juan PR, Class of 1970.
Leeanne was first employed as a young woman in the travel industry working as a travel agent in Washington DC, then in Des Moines Iowa, in Philadelphia PA, in Newton MA & Swampscott MA and finally in CT. For the last 15 years of her working career she was employed as an executive corporate travel agent working at Pitney-Bowes Corporation, where she served as deputy director of corporate incentive travel.
Leeanne loved to travel and also loved fine art, especially contemporary American artists. She also loved to listen to audio books while driving in her car.
Leeanne is survived by her 2 siblings: John Edward Swift III and his wife Margaretta of Shepherdstown West VA and Jacquelyn Ross and her husband Vincent Michael Ross of Culpeper VA; her 5 nieces & nephews: John Edward Swift IV and his wife Becky of Chile, Jacquelyn Picard and her husband Todd Picard of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Valerie Triplett and her husband Brian Triplett of South Riding VA, Alexander Ross and his wife Vicky of Herndon VA and Catherine Ross of Fairfax VA; also her 11 grandnieces & grandnephews: Gwendolyn Swift, Delaney Swift, Jocelyn Swift, Collin Picard, Tyler Picard, Brett Triplett, Chase Triplett, Zachary Triplett, Marguerite Ross, Courtney Ross & Alexander Ross Jr.
Her funeral will be held Monday (August 15th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 NOON in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Monday (August 15th) from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home , prior to her Funeral Mass.
