Leo J. Lussier, 92, of Uxbridge

Leo J. Lussier, 92, passed away Sat. May. 14, 2016 at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Northbridge. He was the husband of Mabel C. (Desjardin) Lussier who passed away in 2013.

Mr. Lussier was employed at the U.S. Postal Service in Uxbridge for 35 years before his retirement in 1986. Leo was a US Navy Veteran serving his country during WW II.

Leo was born Aug. 27, 1923 in Northbridge the son of the late Joseph and Parmella (Contois) Lussier and was a graduate of Northbridge High School. He had been a resident of Rockdale before moving to Uxbridge in 1948.

Mr. Lussier coached the Cocke-N- Kettle Little League Team for many years. He and his wife, Mabel travelled a great deal with the Foxy Travel Club of Uxbridge and were members of the Uxbridge Couples Club. Leo was a Detroit Tigers baseball fan and enjoyed playing cribbage.

Mr. Lussier is survived by his son, Wayne A. and his wife Karen A. Lussier of Douglas, one brother, Raymond Lussier of Northbridge, 2 grandchildren, Justin Lussier of Plantation, FL., Keith Lussier and his wife Dr. Krista Lussier of Wrentham and 1 great grandchild, Sophie Lussier of Wrentham. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, William Perron and Normand Lussier.

The family would like to thank the staff of both Whitney Place and Beaumont Nursing and Rehab. Ctr. of Northbridge for all their great care of Leo.

Visiting hours will be held Tues. May 17, 2016 from 5-7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 North Main St., Uxbridge.

Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held Wed. May 18, 2016 at 10 AM in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon St., Rte. 16, Uxbridge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Uxbridge, 8 Court St. Uxbridge, MA 01569.
