You’ve heard of Clifford the Big Red Dog, but what about Clifford the Big Brown Dog? While not exactly the same (our Clifford isn’t quite 30ft tall), they do share some similarities! Big, goofy, a little gullible, and a friend to all, Clifford the Big Brown Dog embodies all of the sweet and silly qualities of his namesake.
Clifford is about 1.5 years old, 80lbs, and looks to be a Great Dane/German Shepherd mix. In his foster home he is house trained, crate trained, knows how to walk on leash, and is living with other friendly dogs and dog savvy cats. The life of the party, he loves to play! Whether it’s a game of fetch, a wrestling match with another pup, or with a toy by himself, he’s always down for a little fun. Aside from that, Cliff enjoys going for walks, car rides (sticking his head out the window is a must!), and lounging in the yard on a nice day. Due to his size (he is both long and tall) and his predisposition to accidentally bump into things and people, he’s best suited for dog savvy kids 10+ and sturdy people. In addition, a home with a fenced yard and people with large dog experience is preferred.

His owner was elderly and could not care from him anymore. Scooter had a sister dog in his previous home and would enjoy another in his new home! This heel cake loves to go on walks so a family that likes to walk would be great to hell him loose some weight!! Scooter is a big moosh. Loves all people but with his size we prefer kids 10 and up. Hi, I’m Blossom, an 8-ish yr old tan and white female basset mix who is looking for my forever home! I am a sweet and loving girl. I am pretty energetic, and I love to play with my stuffed toys. It seems my tail is always wagging, and I absolutely love attention from my people!
I do pretty well with other dogs for the most part, but I can get a bit upset with others and pushy if food or treats are involved. My forever family should be savvy about handling resource issues, particularly if there are other dogs in the home. Any other dogs in the home should probably be close to my size rather than smaller. I am about 56 lbs, although the vet says I should be closer to 45.
As I said earlier, I’m pretty energetic and playful, but I do have some arthritis in a front leg that flares up from time to time. I am on medication for that, and it helps a lot. So my forever family should live in a one-level home where I won’t have to do stairs, and they will also need to be able to keep me on my medication, which generally runs about $87 a month and requires me to have periodic blood testing.
I am fine with children, but because I don’t seem to realize my own size, it would be best if my forever home doesn’t have small children — I might accidentally knock them over! Older children would be okay.
Do you think that you might be the right forever family for me? Can you see yourself loving me always? If so, please submit an adoption application and mention me — Blossom! If you’re already approved to adopt from NEBHR, please send an email to email@example.com.

We will have puppies ready for adoption soon, so we are starting to accept applications for when they become available. We do not know their breed or how big they will be. We anticipate them to be large dogs, and we think they could be hound mixes. If you are ready to welcome a puppy into your home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about our current puppy matchmaking process!

Meet Kat! She is about 6 years old, 10 lbs, and looks to have some Jack Russell in her mix. Kat was found with a broken pelvis after being hit by a car and she has now healed enough to be ready for adoption. In her foster home, Kat is house trained, crate trained (goes into her crate on her own), and knows how to walk on leash. She does have some leash reactivity to other dogs (barking), so a quiet walking route or a fenced in yard would be best. She is very friendly with all people, especially men. Kat must be an only dog, and could go to a home with kids 10+.
Her foster says, "She loves to be around people. An apartment would be okay but she loves to go outside for walks. Kat would do best with a family who will be home most of the time, a family where she can be the center of attention, a family who will take her outside daily. She absolutely loves everyone but will follow men more readily. Kat is super smart - she learned to sit and stay for her dinner in 2 weeks. She's fun and can entertain herself with little games with her Kong toy (loves her Kong so we'll send with her to her new home). She really enjoys being outside. She is still recovering, getting up from naps she may lift her back left leg, but she has been going up and down 4 stairs for about a week now. Sometimes she is timid about jumping up, sometimes she leaps to the couch without care. she can be wary of cars while walking."
She is available for direct adoption with an approved adopter in Hopkinton, MA by appointment. Please fill out an application at www.browndogcoalition.com/adoption.
- Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, financial, and emotional responsibilities of a puppy/dog BEFORE applying to adopt.
- Our adoption process has been adapted for social distancing and the majority of our dogs are unavailable for meet and greets at this time. Please fill out an application, and we will explain that dog's process as needed.
- Puppies/dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.

Pug (medium coat)
Medium Young Female
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization.
Meet Raven! She is as beautiful as she is spunky. At two years of age, she still has the BIG energy of a puppy! In her Foster Home she is currently living with a few other dogs. We are recommending she be the only pet in the home due to her strong personality. She has had no exposure to cats, but likely her behavior will not be tolerated well by them due t o her fixation issues and the need to constantly engage. There have been episodes of biting when overstimulated, so we believe it is best this diva had all the attention. Only homes with children over age 10 please!
Raven came into PRoNE with some housetraining challenges, however this is being actively worked on with daily improvements seen now that she has a strict bathroom schedule and routine. The ideal home for her would be a chilled and relatively calm environment as to best handle when play gets her overstimulated. Focused efforts on her redirection will help to reduce these episodes. As expected, she is a super loving velcro pug who will sit and snuggle all day with her human if given the chance! She loves car rides and is highly motivated by treats. This is an incentive for her continued training.
Raven is still very much a “puppy” and she loves to explore and loves to sleep and can settle with guidance. The activity level in her former home was not conducive to her needs. In her prior home she spent limited time in an open crate with a dog bed where was some times found napping. We are recommending a work from home situation or an owner not gone longer than 4-6 hours is best for her needs.
Raven has no medical needs at this time, has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. The adoptive home should be able to afford her a quality food diet and routine medical care.
If you feel you would be a great match for Raven, please apply!
If you are interested in adopting, your home situation MUST meet this criteria:
A vet reference check, dog walker check (if applicable), landlord check (if applicable), a phone interview and home visit will be conducted prior to approval. If you think a pug is right for your family and you meet the criteria, please apply to adopt on our website at www.pugrescueofnewengland.org.
BE SURE TO REFERENCE THE SPECIFIC PUG!
Our mission is simple: we find homes for abandoned and surrendered pugs in New England. Our pugs will be UTD on shots and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. You must be a resident of New England (New York residents carefully considered).

Meet Molly! This little missy is about 3.5 years old, 17lbs, and looks like a Jack Russell Terrier mix.
In her foster home, Molly is working on house training, crate training, and knows how to walk on leash . She gets along with other dogs, but would really love to be the center of attention as an only pup. While Molly does not have any cat experience she has lived with children. Since she is a moderate barker, she may not be the best for apartment living.
Interested in Molly? Read her full bio and apply to adopt at www.browndogcoalition.com

Meet Black Beauty! She is about 5 months old, 44 pounds, and looks like she has some Lab in her mix and may be a big girl once full grown, given her current size and big paws. Black Beauty is a bit shy when alone, but warms up quickly with the help of treats and the company of other dogs. Black Beauty will need a home that has a physically fenced in yard, as she is still timid and not used to walking on leash, as well as one that has another resident dog of similar energy who likes to play. She could also go to a home with a confident/dog savvy cat and/or kids 10+. She is available to meet by appointment with an approved adopter in Hopkinton, MA.
If interested in Black Beauty, please fill out an adoption application on our website: browndogcoalition.com where you can also find more information on our process, requirements, fees and FAQs.”

1 year 5 month old male mixed breed (45+lbs)
Patrick is a cute, spunky guy with lots of personality! He loves to play and toys that squeak are his absolute favorite. Once he's comfortable, he loves to be around his people and will lean against you for more pets. Patrick can get nervous of fast movements or loud noises and would like to live with adults that have had some experience owning dogs, who can help him gain confidence and be the best canine companion he can be. We do not know how he feels about other animals. He is incredibly smart and treat-motivated, which will be so helpful when working on leash-walking and getting comfortable in his new surroundings! To learn more about Patrick and our Covid process please email firstname.lastname@example.org!

1 year 7 month old male mixed breed (55+lbs)
Meet Charlie! This handsome guy is ready to meet his new family! Charlie and an active and fun guy who is ready for adventure! He has done well with other dogs, and loves to be with people! Charlie enjoys play time, treats, hikes in the woods, and more treats! He is smart and ready to learn with his new people. Charlie is skinny at 55lbs, and will likely be about 65lbs at a good weight. We think Charlie would do best in an adult only home, and no cats! Charlie has begun to show some jumpy/mouthy behaviors. He is looking for an owner who had experience with training dogs to help him work through this. Charlie is smart, and eager to please, but will need consistency to work through this behavior. He would not do well in an apartment or with city living. Charlie needs a home with a fenced in yard, as he is still getting used to walking on a leash. If you are looking for an active buddy to join your family, please email email@example.com today!

4 year, 8 month old female Husky mix
2 year, 9 month female mixed breed
Meet Bella and Jasmine! These bonded "sisters" are ready to find their new family! We are hoping to keep them together since they came in together and love each other! Unfortunately their previous owner did not have enough time to give them what they needed. They are both sweet, smart, and active girls! Playtime is their favorite, and any toy is fun! They are also very food motivated and love some treats! They can be nervous in new places or with new people, so they are looking for an adult only home or a home with kids over 13. If you think they are the dogs for you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org today!

1 year old male mixed breed
Meet Jesse James! This cute guy is ready to meet his people! Jesse James may be nervous initially, but once he has had the time to take in his surroundings, he is a sweet and friendly boy! Jesse James loves to play with toys, and has a great time during his play dates with other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, he is looking to be the only dog in his home. He would do best in a home with kids over 12 or adults only. He is new to leash walking, and after a short walk, he prefers to play in the yard! Jesse is a smart and food motivated pup who is ready for training. Since he can be nervous, he is looking to live in a quieter area - no city life for him! If you think he could be the pup for you, please email email@example.com today to learn more about him!

1 year 8 month old male mixed breed (80#)
Meet Arlo! Arlo is a sweet and very playful young guy who is ready to start off the new year with his new family! Arlo is about 80lbs and 1.5years old. He is an active dog who loves to go for hikes in the woods and play in the yard. Chasing balls is his favorite game! Arlo has had lots of dog friends, but seems to do best with females. While he can have dog friends, he should be the only dog in his home. He is a bit too interested in cats, so no cats for him! Arlo may be nervous at first with new people or situations, but he warms up quickly and is a very sweet guy! He would do best in a home with kids over 13. If you think Arlo is for you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info on Arlo and our process today!

3 year 4 month old female mixed breed (55 pounds) currently in foster.
This nervous lady is looking for a patient family to help her learn about life as a beloved pet! Eclipse is new to the shelter, and we are learning more about her sweet personality as she opens up more each day. With patience, and lots of yummy treats, Eclipse warms up nicely to new people. She will take time to be fully comfortable, but once she knows you she is very sweet! Eclipse has been around other dogs and seems to get along with them. We have noticed she seems to like female dogs more than males. Eclipse gains confidence from other dogs, and tends to follow their lead. Leash walking is new to her, and she is just learning how to go for hikes in the woods when we have lots of yummy treats to encourage her! Cars going by on the road are scary for her, so she prefers playing in the yard and walking in the woods. She would do best in a home with a fenced in yard to help her with this transition. She is looking to live in a home in a quiet area - no city living for her! Eclipse is looking for a home with adults and older teens (15+). If you think she is the dog for you, please email email@example.com today!
