By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A business intending to locate in Hopedale and apply for an Adult use Marijuana Cultivator License from the Cannabis Control Commission, will be looking to the Board of Selectmen tonight, to move the process along. MACA Industries is seeking to establish a facility, that would be used to cultivate marijuana for recreational use and it would not be seeking a retail license to sell pot in Hopedale. Residents were invited to a meeting last month, to hear more about the type of establishment would be at the proposed location, what security provisions will be taken and listen to a plan to positively impact the community. The community outreach meeting was the first of three steps in receiving town approval before MACA can submit an application to the CCC. Hopedale Selectmen will vote tonight to allow the town, through Town Counsel to negotiate a host agreement with MACA Industries, to establish a marijuana cultivating business at 2 Condon Way. As the final step with the town, the company must later certify compliance with local zoning and buffer zone requirements. Also on the agenda for tonight’s Selectmen’s Meeting in Hopedale will be a discussion on the budget, with the Finance Committee.
