By MyFM's Jake Archer - The Medway High School boy’s hockey team ended their great season on a rough note as Scituate 4-0 shut them out on Sunday in the Division 2 sectional title game. For the Mustangs, it was the second season that ended at the hands of Scituate.
The Sailors led for pretty much the whole game and were up 2-0 just three minutes into play. It was a frustrating game for Medway as they trailed 3-0 heading into the third period, just as they did last year before fighting back to tie the score and eventually fall short. This time they could not mount any type of comeback as Scituate kept them at an arm’s length to secure the win.
Second-seeded Medway’s season comes to a close at 18-3-3. The top-seeded Sailors (22-2-1) will now face the North sectional champion in the Division 2 state championship next Sunday at TD Garden.
