By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Town of Medway is getting ready to begin a sort of public awareness campaign, to bring attention to the town's Plastic Bag Reduction Bylaw. The Energy and Sustainability Committee will meet tonight and will discuss Social Media posts for residents and businesses, dealing with the bylaw which refers to the thin-film single-use plastic bags, and how they shall not be distributed, used or sold at checkout or other purposes at any establishment within the town of Medway. The bylaw went into effect in late January of this year and then came COVID and the State then allowing for a time, the use of those types of bags and banning customer bringing to stores, their own reusable bags. The committee members tonight will talk about partnering with the Medway Business Council, Communications Director and the Board of Health and also use the town website in rolling out and reminding everyone of the Plastic Bag Reduction bylaw.
