For 25 years, the Medway Lions have channeled their spirit of service into an annual Christmas Tree and Wreath sale to directly fund service projects in the Medway community and into Lions Club International causes, such as eye research. Once again, the Medway Lions Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale kicks off the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this year November 27th, and runs until all the trees are sold. All tree and wreath proceeds and gratuities go directly into the Medway Lions Club, and items can be paid for by cash, check or credit card. Hours are Monday through Friday, 3:30-8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Medway Lion Club tree sale committee have been working hard to prepare the new site in the Medway Plaza next to Bank of America, to the left of the entrance. The committee expects trees to go quickly this year and encourages holiday shoppers to visit right after the Thanksgiving holiday, as trees sell out by December 14th every year.
Freshly cut from a farm in Maine, the Medway Lions tree sale features cut balsam and Frasier Fir variety trees, as well as undecorated and handcrafted wreaths of varying sizes and styles.
The Medway Lions Club members will deliver freshly cut balsam and Frasier Fir Christmas trees direct to your home for a $10 donation to Medway residents only. Trees are available on a first-come, first served basis to anyone who would like to support the Lions, and the club predicts a sell-out by Dec. 14th.
Many thanks to the dedicated Medway High students from the hockey and football teams and the MHS peer counselors who will help the club unload, set up and sell the Christmas trees each year.
