By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Medway residents will vote on nine-articles at a Special Town Meeting tonight, to be held prior to the Annual Town Meeting …featuring 30-articles, which make up a proposed $57.7 million dollar, Fiscal Year 2020 budget…reflecting an increase of about $2.7 million. During the Special Town Meeting, residents will vote on an article requesting a transfer from the Fiscal Year 2019 budget, a total of $367,000…to fund the design, construction, equipping and furnishing of the new Department of Public Works Facility. The Annual Town Meeting will also have several articles dealing with funding for the new DPW building. Article 7 will ask voters to appropriate money from Free Cash, to pay for capital improvements, totaling $2.7 million…including $750,000 for various road and sidewalk repairs, to replace a fire department brush truck at a cost of $105,000 and to spend $84,000 to replace the Police departments’ portable radio equipment. Medway residents will also vote on two articles to amend the Zoning By-Laws for both recreational and medicinal Marijuana establishments…adding in requirements for noise and odor mitigation measures and monitoring. Tonight the Special and Annual Town Meetings begin at 7pm and 7:30pm respectively…both will be held at the Medway High School.
