By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Mendon Police Station Building Committee meets tonight, members will be given updates on several action items expected to be discussed including documentation for the transfer of a strip of land from an abutter to the town. The strip of land will support an electrical feed, stone wall and a future second egress. The Committee will hear from the Historical Commission, on what they’d like retained from the existing fire station, which originally was a blacksmith shop. There will also be a motion to name the new Police Station, after former Mendon Police Chief Matthew Mantoni and possibly officially present it to the Board of Selectmen, who’s members once again are expected to attend tonight’s meeting. There will also be a review of the schedule for construction documentation and bid documents.
