Mendon selectmen and a new police station building committee will move forward with finishing the facility without a tax increase. The board decided not to use a debt exclusion for funding. Chairman Rich Scofield said the school override is still being felt by residents and he and his colleagues don't want to impose more of a financial burden on taxpayers.
Funding mechanisms for the police station will go before voters in November. The cost is $3.3 million.
