By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Mendon residents will be meeting outside tonight for the Annual Town Meeting, when residents will vote on 25 articles on the warrant. Among the articles will be to see if the town approves $271,820 in
funding for the Mendon-Upton Regional School District appropriating an additional $30,000 per year to the current debt schedule, to pay down the additional $1.4 million debt, for the Mendon Police Station and to approve the Mendon Five-Year Land Use Program, put together by the Land Use Committee, with the goal of protecting and acquiring sufficient land for the common interest and welfare of it's citizens. Voters will also decide on the purchase of a new fire engine and fund the replacement of the Town Well. A virtual Town Meeting was held Thursday night to go through the warrant and answer any questions, to expedite the process at the Mendon Annual Town Meeting, which begins tonight at the Football/Soccer Field behind the Miscoe Hill School, starting at seven o’clock.
