By MyFM's Rick Michaels - At the recent Milford Board of Selectmen meeting a former member of the Finance Committee addressed the Board, to speak about, not being re-appointed to the Fincom last month. Jeffrey Niro was the only member of the Fincom not re-appointed, having spent four-years on the committee and he spoke about his work, his dedication to the job and doing what’s best for the town. His wife Donna Niro also spoke, voicing concerns of the unjustified and undeserved removal of her husband. She says on the morning of last month’s Selectmen’s meeting, a new application to serve on the Fincom was sent to the Town Administrator’s Office then later that night on a 2-1 vote, Selectmen Mike Walsh and Tom O’Loughlin voted in favor of this new applicant and the removal of Jeff Niro Donna Niro told the Board the Fincom Chair and members were unaware Jeff Niro was not being re-appointed and she plans to introduce a by-law at the next Town Meeting, to implement performance assessment for members of all committees, boards and commissions. She also asked the board to reconsider their action and following their statements there were no comments made from the Board.
