Milford Brush Fire Calls In For Mutual Aid
By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A call to Milford Police, from a resident on Walden Way reporting he could see smoke and ashes coming from behind his house sent firefighters Saturday afternoon, to an area off Haven Street where they encountered a brush fire. Mutual aid was called in about 1:30 Saturday afternoon the brush fire was approximately, covering up to ten acres firefighters from Medway, Bellingham and Hopkinton helped with fighting the flames while Hopedale provided station coverage. Several tankers and pumper trucks were brought to the scene from several communities they were able to get the fire knocked down within the first hour with most apparatus remaining at the scene until about 6:30 Saturday night.
