Six new members have been appointed to the Milford Cultural Council by Milford Town Selectmen, increasing membership to fourteen.
The purpose of the Council is to allocate state grant funds to organizations and community groups specifically for events that promote excellence, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities and sciences for the betterment of the town of Milford.
Current members include: Molly Auger, Jim Buckley, Marco Carneiro, Bryan Cole, Geri Eddins, Vinnie Kiejzo, Michael Lalime, Jenny Lyons, Marcia Macri, Meghan Olivera, Nicole Romiglio, Patty Salomon, Mike Visconti and Christopher Vendetti.
Geri Eddins has been appointed as Council Chairperson, Bryan Cole has been appointed Council Vice Chairperson and Nicole Romiglio has been appointed as Council Secretary through unanimous Council vote. The application to request funds opens on September 1, 2019 with a deadline on October 15, 2019. Between November 1, 2019 and December 30, 2019 the Council will hold voting meetings to make decisions on applications, send denial letters and handle reconsideration requests. By January 15, 2020 the Council will begin to notify applicants of their funding.
“The Milford Cultural Council is proud to allocate funding for a diverse range of activities and events in our community each year. We are actively seeking feedback from residents regarding what types of projects and events they would like to see offered. Residents may submit suggestions by email, by speaking with a member of the Council, or by attending one of our meetings,” said Council Chairperson Geri Eddins.
