Milford Evaluating Converting Beaver St. To Two Way Traffic
By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A letter from State Representative Brian Murray of Milford to the Milford Board of Selectmen last month, in support of the State evaluating the feasibility of converting Beaver Street to two way traffic led to a move by the Chairman to have the Town Engineer provide an update on, one particular improvement to the intersection of Beaver Street with Medway Road/ Route 109. Selectmen Bill Buckley agreed with Representative Murray, about supporting a reconfiguration of the intersection and then asked for the Town Engineer to provide an update at the board's next meeting, which happens to be tonight, on creating a dedicated left turn from Route 109/Medway Road to Burger King where vehicles now try to travel across two oncoming lanes of traffic, trying to make a left hand turn. Buckley says changing Beaver Street to two way traffic has been talked about for years, as the Board unimously agreed to send letters of support for the project to the MassDOT as well as, State Representative Murray and State Senator Ryan Fattman. There is also an executive session scheduled to discuss with the Town Counsel, the Fire Department Collective Bargaining and to get an update on the Opioid Litigation.
