A Milford man was charged with stealing nearly $280,000 from Milford Youth Football and Cheer according to Worcester DA James Early Jr. Gregory Pearl, 49, of Milford was arraigned Wednesday on charges of larceny over $1,200 by continuous scheme and making false entries in a corporate book with intent to defraud. He pleaded not guilty to charges and was released on personal recognizance.
Pearl was indicted by a Worcester County Grand Jury on Dec. 16, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.
The charges are the result of a Milford police investigation that began nearly two years ago when Milford Youth Football reported $280,000 missing from an account. Pearl was in the role of the organization's treasurer from 2013 to 2018.
