The Milford TV programming event, Confronting the Challenges of COVID-19 at Milford Regional Medical Center: Honoring Our Healthcare Heroes, will include a diverse cast of over twenty guests, each one presenting his or her own experience in helping to manage the pandemic in the greater Milford community and sharing personal stories of the challenges entailed in offering the best possible care for patients and their families coping with COVID-19.
This special program, created as a tribute to our community’s healthcare professionals and others working on the front lines, will air live on Tuesday, June 9 beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Milford TV (Comcast 8 and Verizon 38), MyFM 101.3, and other community access channels including Bellingham, Douglas, Franklin, Hopedale, Hopkinton, and Norfolk.

Viewers and listeners will be provided information regarding how they can support the important work being done at MRMC by donating to the hospital’s COVID-19 fund during the program.
State Representative Brian W. Murray (10th Worcester District) and Representative Jeffrey N. Roy (10th Norfolk District) will co-host the program.
Participating guests from Milford Regional include administrators, doctors, and nurses: Edward J. Kelly, President & Chief Executive Officer of MRMC; Robert L. Kilroy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Patrick R. McSweeney, MD, President, Milford Regional Physician Group; Judy M. Kelly, Vice-President of Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer; Jeffrey Hopkins, MD, Medical Director of Emergency Medicine; Meghan Kelley, RN, Maternity; Christina Nadeau, RN, Oncology; and Gina Sabatino, RN, ICU.
Representative Carolyn C. Dykema (8th Middlesex District), Senator Ryan C. Fattman (Worcester and Norfolk District), and Representative David K. Muradian, Jr. (9th Worcester District) are participating as guests from the Massachusetts State House.
Community leaders being interviewed include Jacquelyn Murphy, DrPH, MPH, Milford Director of Public Health; William D. Buckley, Chair, Milford Board of Selectmen; and Rev. Peter Joyce, Pastor, St. Mary of the Assumption Church.
Participating first responders include flight paramedic Nicholas North, RN, NRP, FP-C, C‑NPT, UMass Memorial Medical Center; Don Charest, Operations Manager-Paramedic for Community EMS Central MA with colleagues Kristen Allen and Shawn Jackson, who are both Operations Supervisor-Paramedics; Mark A. Nelson, Milford Fire Chief; William Touhey, Jr., Former Milford Fire Chief; and Michael A. Pighetti, Milford Police Chief.
In addition, viewers will hear from Kenneth Joensson, who shares his inspirational story as the first patient to leave the hospital ICU after being treated on a ventilator for COVID-19.

Confronting the Challenges of COVID-19 at Milford Regional Medical Center will air live on Tuesday, June 9 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Milford residents can watch on Milford TV channels Comcast 8 and Verizon 38.
