The Milford Regional Medical Center's $54 million building and expansion project, which broke ground early in 2014, celebrated the progress with a ribbon cutting ceremony today, with an open house slated for Sunday. The vice President of Clinical and Support Services at Milford Regional, Peggy Novick says following the ceremony the staff will get their first chance to go in and look around the 78 thousand foot building.
Novick says the new emergency department will double in size and go from 30 to 52 beds. The intensive care unit will almost triple in size and go from 10 to 16 beds. And there will be a floor with 24 private patient rooms. Residents of Milford and surrounding towns will get a chance to tour the new facility this Sunday from 1pm to 4pm
