By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Milford residents went to the polls Tuesday, re-electing Michael Walsh to serve another three years on the Board of Selectmen and doing the same for James Ligor, he was re-elected, along with former School Committee member John Erickson, both will serve on the School Committee for the next three years. The turnout at the polls as expected was on the light side, just 13-percent of the town’s registered voters, took the time to cast their ballots in the Milford Annual Town Election. Walsh defeated challenger Ami Clifford, by a vote of 1,745 to 449 easily winning re-election, Ligor was the top vote getter of the six candidates seeking two seats on the School Committee, garnering 982 votes. Erickson was second with 808 votes. In the other contested races Margaret Myatt and Stephanie Abisla were elected to the Board of Library Trustees for Trustees of Vernon Grove, Scott Vecchiolla and Kristen Gardner won seats and for Constable, the five-incumbents won re-election. The Milford Town Clerk’s Office says of the 17,492 registered voters in Milford, 2,266 residents made their way to the polls yesterday.
