Budabings 50’s café located on Route 109/Main Street in Millis was a complete loss, in part when a gas line was ruptured and fed the flames which resulted in the roof collapsing. No one was in the diner and no firefighters were injured battling the flames. Millis Fire Chief Rick Barrett called in mutual aid from several surrounding towns, traffic was impacted with detours on Route 109 near the intersection with Pleasant Street but the area has re opened to traffic. The State Fire Marshall's Office along with the Millis Fire Department will now begin looking for a cause of a fire that destroyed a very popular local gathering spot. It was almost exactly two-years ago when another local eatery and gathering spot in Millis Bob’s Family Restaurant, located on the opposite side of Route 109 just yards from Budabings was also destroyed by fire.
