The Milford school committee met this week to discuss how to proceed with improving technology and how it should be directed. The total salaries listed for four people stands at $467 thousand dollars when the staff worked for both the towns and schools. Members felt some of those funds should be able to be used now that the school will handle their own IT and the finance committee approved the needed funding to move forward. Member, John Erickson discussed the idea of having a consultant or not. He felt the best route to follow is to prepare a request for proposals from qualified individuals. Superintendent Doctor Bob Trembly said he has asked a staff member, to solicit three bids and that the schools will use a consultant until it is decided what is the best course of action to follow. The total budget for the schools tech department is expected to be around $261 thousand dollars.
