Mr. Clifford E. Pond, 87, of Milford MA died Wednesday morning (February 8, 2023) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa R. (Boni) Pond who died in 2013.
 
Clifford was born in Millis MA, the son of the late Clifton Pond and the late Hazel (Taylor) Pond Pasquantonio. He attended public schools in Franklin MA and later in life became a certified union electrician.
 
Clifford was first employed at the former General Motors assembly plant located in Framingham MA. He later worked at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale MA where he enrolled in an apprentice electrician’s program and became certified. He later worked for many years as a union electrician at the IBEW Local #96 out of Worcester. He recently received his “55 year pin” as a member of that local union.
 
Clifford was also a US Army Korean Conflict veteran having served from 1954 to 1956.
 
Clifford took great pride in taking care of his residence, working around the yard and even painting the house every five or six years as needed. He also liked collecting antique clocks and refinishing antique furniture. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved listening to country music.
 
Clifford and his late wife Theresa enjoyed spending time with their many dear friends and he was always generous with his time helping people out. He also loved his trips to Foxwoods Casino, but his favorite past time was spending time with his beloved family members, because family came first to Clifford.
 
Clifford is survived by his beloved daughter: Patricia A. Zappella and her husband Anthony S. Zappella of Uxbridge MA; his 2 grandson: Brian A. Zappella and his wife Kira of Walpole MA and Jeffrey M. Zappella of Uxbridge MA; his great grandson: Theo Zappella of Walpole MA; his brother: Eugene Pond of Medway MA; also several nieces & nephews.
 
Clifford was the brother of the late Alvin Pond and the late Maybel Jordan.
 
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (February 15th) at 12 NOON at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday morning (February 15th) from 10:30am to 12 NOON, prior to his Funeral Services.
