Mr. John J. Grillo, 90, of Milford MA died Monday evening (January 9, 2023) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy L. (Espanet) Grillo.
 
John was born in Milford MA, the son of the late Joseph F. Grillo and the late Theresa R. (Covino) Grillo. He attended Milford public schools and was a member of the Milford High School, Class of 1950.
 
John was a Korean Conflict veteran having served in the US Navy.
 
John was first employed as a young man at the former Draper Corporation located in Hopedale MA. He later was employed for many years at the former Digital Corporation, retiring in 1991.
 
During his early years of retirement, John & his wife Dorothy, had wintered in Boynton Beach FL.  He was a longtime member of the Italian-American Veterans Post #40 of Milford  MA and had been a member of the Sterling Village Owners Association while residing in Boynton Beach FL.
 
Along with his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, he is survived by his 3 children: Charlotte J. Grillo-Manna and her husband Scott Manna of Hopedale MA, Jodi  M. Julian of Hopedale MA & Thomas J. Grillo and his longtime companion Sheila Todd of Uxbridge MA; his grandchildren: Jessie G. Dean and her husband Brian Dean of Hopedale MA, Andrew J. Julian and his wife Christy of Mattapoisett MA & Alexandra N. Manna of Hopedale MA; his great grandchildren: Amelia Dean, Eleanor Dean, Maxwell Julian & Avery Julian; also many nieces, nephews & cousins.
 
John was the loving father of the late John Dana Grillo, who died in 1972 and the brother of the late Natale J. Grillo and the late RoseMarie Thibault.
 
In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place. A Private Committal Service  of his cremains, with Military Honors, will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA at the convenience of the family. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
