Mrs. Eveline M. (Celozzi) Berry, 90, of Milford MA died Wednesday (March 23, 2022) at Countryside Healthcare of Milford after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Berry, who died in 1991. And sister of the late Evemarie (Celozzi) Gillfillan of Baskings Ridge, NJ.
Eveline was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Matthew and the late Mary M. (Visconti) Celozzi. She attended Milford public schools, graduating from Milford High School, Class of 1949. She was also a graduate of Fischer College. Evy attended Fisher College receiving a degree in medical assisting.
Eveline was first employed as a young woman at the former Cushing Hospital in Framingham MA. She then was employed as a medical secretary for various doctor’s offices in Milford MA. She later was employed as a secretary at Milford Town Hall, working in the Town Clerk’s Office and then finally for the Milford Retirement Board Office.
Eveline enjoyed playing golf & tennis with her friends as a young woman. And she was a longtime participant in the bocce league at the Italian-American Veterans Post of Milford.
Eveline is survived by her daughter: Barbara A., wife of Richard Auger of Milford MA; her son: Joseph P. Berry Jr. and his wife Jane of Milford MA; her 2 grandchildren: Dana M. Auger of Northampton MA and Pauline R. Auger and her fiancé Benjamin Bricker of Greenfield MA; also several nieces, nephews and close cousins.
Her funeral will be held Monday March 28th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Milford MA. A visiting hour will be held Monday (March 28th) from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
