Mrs. Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Ann (Abretti) Niro, 82, of Medway
  

Mrs. Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Ann (Abretti) Niro, 82, of Medway MA died Sunday (January 22, 2023) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Niro, who died in 2006.  

Jackie was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late Richard Abretti and the late Florine (Bonin) Abretti Vignogna. She attended Milford public schools and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1958, and had served as a majorette in the school’s marching band.
 
Jackie was enjoyed helping her grandmother at the Hayward Street market when young, and was first employed as a young woman at Francis Flowers, located in Milford MA. After many years as a devoted housewife and mother she became employed for the Medway Public School System, working in the school cafeteria.
 
Jackie was a longtime resident of Medway MA and took great pride in the flower gardens that she and Bob tended to at their residence. She also enjoyed watching the many birds that visited the yard. She loved flower arranging, sewing & crafting over her years.
 
Jackie was an active member of the St. Joseph Church Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America and she had volunteered for many years at the Medway Food Pantry. She cherished long-time friendships from her and Bob’s Milford days and those made at Mahan Circle, Catholic Daughters and the Medway cafeteria.
 
Jackie is survived by her 2 daughters: Leslie Murray and her husband Dennis of Medway MA and Christina Philibert and her husband Jeff of Scarborough ME; her 5 grandchildren: Matthew Murray of Shirley MA, Morgan Murray of Worcester MA, Bridgette Philibert of Wilmington NC, Alexander Philibert of Boulder CO and Natale Philibert of Scarborough ME; and also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
Jackie was the sister of the late Veronica Iacovelli of Cataumet MA who died in 2017.
 
Her funeral will be held Tuesday (January 31st) at 9am from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (UPPER CHURCH), 7 East Main Street, Milford MA.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford MA. Visiting hours will be held Monday (January 30th) from 5pm to 7pm.
