Mrs. Mary E. (Daley) Marley, also known as “Noni Bird”, 87, of Milford Ma died Tuesday (February 1, 2022) at the Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. The world will be a lot less interesting now. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas M. Marley, who died in 1989.
Mary was born in Somerville MA, the daughter of the late James H. and the late Helen (Struble) Daley. She was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1952. She was also a graduate, with High Honors, from the former St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1955.
Mary was first employed as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and the later for forty years at the Milford Hospital.
Mary was a lifelong reader and had a passion for needlework. She was a public servant who was loved and respected by her colleagues & peers for her humanistic ideals, ethics and principles. She had a great sense of humor, the gift of gab and was a great story teller. She also loved a good pint of Guinness.
Noni is survived by the greatest loves of her life, her grandchildren: Michael Caron and his wife Melissa of Milford MA, Nathan Caron and his partner Brittany and their unborn baby girl of Northbridge MA, Leah E. Marley of Whitinsville MA, Emma M. Caron of Hopedale MA, Angela M. Caron of Hopedale MA, Meghan C. Mercier of Milford MA, and Maura E. Mercier of Milford.
Mary is also survived by her daughters: Marie E. Marley of South Grafton MA, Christine M. Caron of Hopedale MA, Deirdre M. Marley of Belchertown MA and Rachel Marley of Milford MA; her siblings: Helen M. Hildreth of Dennis MA, James G. Daley of Hopkinton MA and Thomas Daley of Falmouth MA; also several nieces & nephews.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA at some time in the future when her family is comfortable with the COVID-19 conditions.
