Mrs. Veronica G. “Gerri” (Jakubauskas) Scirocco, 82, of Milford MA, died Monday (April 13, 2020) at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Northbridge MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Edward M. Scirocco, who died in 2019. She and her late husband would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 23rd.
Mrs. Scirocco was born in Boston MA, the daughter of the late Simon and the late Amelia (Gedaitis) Jakubauskas). She attended Boston public schools, graduating from Dorchester High School, Class of 1955.
Mrs. Scirocco had been employed in the insurance industry for many years, working as a customer service representative for various insurance agencies, including the John J. Casey Insurance Agency and the Abodeely Insurance Agency.
Mrs. Scirocco loved to sing & dance the “polka” and was the unofficial President of the Polka Paul Fan Club. She also loved spending time with her many friends at the Milford Senior Center, and loved to play “bingo” and play the slot machines on her trips to the casino. She especially loved going camping with her family members, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 6Children: Edward Scirocco and his wife Tammy of Milford MA, Donna, wife of Edward Lucier of Milford MA, Steven Scirocco of Milford MA, Laura Scirocco of Clinton MA, Maria, wife of Michael Ozella of Milford MA and Debora, wife of George Parry of Milford MA; 6 Grandchildren: Michael Ozella, Eric Lucier, Gabriel Parry, Elizabeth Parry, Kali Scirocco and Janelle Scirocco; also several nieces & nephews.
Mrs. Scirocco was the sister of the late Ann Prive; the late Richard Jakubauskas; the late Francis Jakubauskas; the late Aldona Keaney and the late Dorothy Manning.
In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place. A Private Graveside Committal Service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress Street, Milford MA.
