I am fortunate to serve as the Deputy Town Administrator for the Town of Franklin and will begin to serve as the Town Administrator in the spring when my predecessor Jeff Nutting, retires. My job is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the $125 million organization known as the City Known as the Town of Franklin.” We provide exceptional public services and customer service for the 35,000 residents of this community and the thousands of businesses and employees who come to Franklin every day.

What is your greatest fear?

Fear itself. And I’m not trying to spin FDR’s famous quote, it’s just the right answer!

Which living person do you most admire?

This is a tough one. Several months ago I would have said Anthony Bourdain. Sadly he passed and it’s hard to replace someone I admired as much as him.

What is your current state of mind?


What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Any resident or customer who feels they had a positive experience in the Town Administrator’s Office or in our government. It’s the best feeling to see people happy and satisfied (and sometimes surprised!) when they leave or hang up the phone. Can’t get a better achievement than that.

Who are your favorite writers?

Right now, Bari Weiss at the New York Times. An extremely insightful and passionate writer. I do not read many columnists, but enjoy her stuff.  Bob Lefsetz is also the best writer in America, as he has been for years. Google him, check him out and sign up for his emails.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?

Han Solo. Indiana Jones as a close second.

Who are your heroes in real life?

Outside of my wife who is my best friend, I’d Artists. Too many to name, but I deeply respect their creativity, bravery and contributions toward bringing people together for fun.

What are your favorite movies?

Star Wars, Mullholland Drive are probably my two favorite movies of all time, although I could go on about this topic for a while. Just about anything Richard Linklater, Quentin Tarantino,David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick. Recently, I thought A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody were both incredible.

Where can we find you on a rainy Sunday afternoon?

Making a Sunday afternoon dinner, while listening to music with my wife. If it’s a light rain, I’d still be in the garden!

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Azores, Portugal.

What are your hobbies?

Cooking, Gardening, swimming, travel, hiking, sports, culture, beaches, guitarist, and we enjoy going to a lot of artist’s events, concerts, comedians, theater, etc.

How do you entertain yourself locally?

Local theaters, clubs and restaurants. There is so much now in MetroWest and Worcester. Plenty to do for the whole family all the time. It’s an exciting time to be a part this area. It’s the Place to Be.

What is your favorite meal?

Anything Mexican or Tex-Max. Nachos, Tacos, Mexican Street Corn, Beans, Guacamole, etc.

What are you listening to right now?

A lot of Kacey Musgraves as we just saw her live a month ago; and, artists from the 2019 Coachella play list (Lizzo, Alice Merton, and Weezer to name a few) and a couple new blues- rock releases (Tedeschi Trucks Band, Gary Clark, Jr.).

1986 Buick Regal

We are half way through the Americans TV show right now.

National Geographic.

If you had a time machine, where would you go?

Monterey Pop Festival 1967 in California. At least for the Jimi Hendrix set.

What do you eat for breakfast?

An almond milk and fruit shake or eggs scramble and toast. I’m constantly improvising and changing it up. And of course, Iced Coffee!

Describe yourself as a teenager?

Polite, Sincere, Passionate, Compassionate, Adventurous, Independent.

What challenges you?

Every day is a new set of challenges and I embrace them every day! I hope they never stop!
