By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A new local shared Community Solar Farm is being built in Franklin and residents are finding out more about how to subscribe for a share of the power produced and going solar, without rooftop panels and saving money on their annual electricity costs. The Solar Farm is being constructed by Nexamp and will be located, off of Spring Street in Franklin and will produce enough renewable energy, to power more than 800-homes. Nexamp Senior Community Sales Associate, Jacob Amman gave a remote presentation last week to Franklin residents saying this allows more people to get the benefits of Solar Energy, with a company ready to form a lasting relationship with the town and its’ residents.
Amman says subscribers receive credits on their National Grid electricity bill for the energy produced and Nexamp is offering a special discount rate of 15-percent to Franklin residents. There’s no up-front costs, no long-term commitment and of course no installation of solar panels at your home. Openings are on a first-come, first-serve basis until October 15th, and the solar farm should be up and running by around this time next year. If you missed the presentation last week…you can find it on the Franklin Town website.
