Northbridge Student In Serious Condition After Fight

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Northbridge Police say a 17-year-old Northbridge High School student was critically injured during a fight in the school’s gymnasium earlier this week. Police and school officials are questioning an 18-year-old student who was involved in the fight as the student who was rushed away from the gym on a stretcher remains hospitalized. Administrators say students and staff helped the injured student after he was knocked unconscious on Monday. Northbridge School Superintendent Amy McKinstry released a statement about the incident which involved two male students which resulted in one student being seriously injured. Appropriate measures are being taken by the HS administration. We cannot comment further because of legal restrictions concerning disclosure of information about individual students. The staff, students and administration who witnessed the incident did an outstanding job attending to the injured student. McKinstry says the family is hopeful for a full recovery. Parents across the school district were informed about the fight and Northbridge Police say their investigation is ongoing it remains unclear as to whether any charges will be filed in this case.
