Patrick Michael Keaney, Jr., 24, passed away suddenly after a long struggle with addiction on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Hopedale, MA. He was born on January 20, 1993 Framingham, MA to Shannon and Patrick Keaney.
Patrick was a charismatic and beautiful son and brother. He was a sweet, young man with a loving heart. We will miss his smile and his keen sense of humor. Wherever he went, people loved him. The worry that we felt watching Patrick struggle has been replaced by deep feelings of loss knowing that we will never see him again. But Patrick is not a statistic, and addiction is not who Patrick was. He's our handsome boy. We have chosen to be honest about his death in hopes that we can remind others to open their minds and hearts to talk about this disease openly and without stigma.
Patrick leaves behind his mother Shannon Keaney, his brother Collin Keaney, his father Patrick Keaney and his wife Nicole, and his sister Brandy. He was predeceased by his grandmother Teresa L. Jump, his nana Virginia F. Keaney and his Bumpa Francis M. Keaney. He also leaves behind his uncle Timothy and his wife Martina, his uncle John and his wife Maggie, his uncle Christopher and his wife Karen, his cousins Christine, Katie, Bridget, Brendan, Kathleen, Lauren, Jackie, Kayla, Courtney, William, and Mitchell, as well as his aunt Jamie and uncle Alwin and his cousins Chelsie, Camryn, Jordy, Sanne and Noemi.
