By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Plainville woman who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in a landmark texting-suicide case, was being released this morning from the Bristol County Jail in Dartmouth after spending less than a year behind bars. 23-year old Michelle Carter was ordered in February of last year to serve 15 months in jail in connection with the death of Conrad Roy, but she’s being released today due to good behavior. Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson says “She’s been a model prisoner and has been involved in programs getting her certificate in food service and she’s been very active in social as well as self-help programs. Carter’s lawyer Joseph Cataldo says she is a different person compared to when she was 17. Her defense team unsuccessfully appealed her involuntary manslaughter conviction multiple times.
