MEDWAY - A massive energy storage facility proposed for Medway has hit a snag after reportedly being rejected by a state board. The Energy Facility Siting Board has reportedly said no to a petition from Medway Grid to build a 250 megawatt Battery Energy Storage Facility. The Franklin Observer reports the board also rejected a project for Carver saying by law they have no jurisdiction to approve these energy storage projects. The BESS projects will next go to the Department of Public Utilities to see if they can be exempt from local zoning.
