By MyFM's Rick Michaels - A raccoon found in Franklin has tested positive for the rabies virus prompting the town to issue a public health advisory. The raccoon was found near 85 Daniels Street, one week ago, with test results now confirming the animal was rabid. Animals infected with the rabies virus may be unsteady on their feet or act aggressively. Residents are reminded to not approach any wild animal which appears to be sick or injured. Franklin residents who come across a wild animal that’s acting unusual should contact Franklin Animal Control or you can call Franklin Police for assistance.
