By MyFM's Rick Michaels - Residents of Hopedale, during a Special Town Election yesterday approved an override question, allowing the town to assess an additional $430,000 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding the Fiscal Year 2020 Operational Budget. Hopedale Town Clerk Lisa Pedroli says the proposition 2 ½ tax override question was passed by a vote of 569-to-419 representing about a 24- percent turnout of registered voters in Hopedale. The money will go towards basic services in the $24.4 million budget, for the Fiscal Year that began in July 1st and may be the first of several overrides in the years ahead just to keep the town operating, without having to cut services or lay-off employees.
