On Thursday October 10, 2019, We are thrilled to have DCH Toyota of Milford sponsor the 7th annual Rockin for a Reason benefit concert to raise money for Childhood cancer research. Local teens from Mendon, Upton, Milford and surrounding towns, along with faculty and community members, will take the stage to raise money for pediatric cancer research – specifically the Ty Louis Campbell (TLC) Foundation. Music will play from 7-9 pm as a true rock and roll style all-age’s concert. The concert will be held at Nipmuc High School- 90 Pleasant Street, Upton MA. Doors open at 6:30 on Thursday Oct. 10, music starts at 7pm. The cost is $10 per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the door. All proceeds benefit pediatric cancer research. In addition to funding research, this year Rockin for a Reason will provide 2 local families who are facing a childhood cancer diagnosis with a grant from the TLC Friends and Family program( https://www.thetlcfoundation.org/tlc-for-families/)
The inspiration for the benefit concert comes from Ty Louis Campbell, affectionately known as SuperTy, because, like all children who battle cancer, he defined strength and courage even when faced with life’s most difficult challenges. Ty did not survive his cancer diagnosis and unfortunately we will never know if it was the cancer that took his life or the harsh treatments that he had to endure to fight the cancer.
Through concert tickets, food and merchandise sales and the very generous list of sponsors including: DCH Toyota of Milford, Toyota Motor North America ,Paul M. Phipps Insurance Agency of Hopkinton, Target of Milford, Plains Automotive of Milford, The Muffin House, Music & Arts of Milford and Price Chopper we will raise money that goes directly into research grants through the TLC Foundation and their amazing network of top oncologists and researchers in the field of pediatric oncology.
