Rudolph V. Lioce, Sr., 90, of Mendon passed away Sunday Oct. 21, 2018 in Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Madeline M. (Paradiso) Lioce.
Mr. Lioce owned and operated Milford Woodworking which he founded in 1955 and was proud to be working side by side with his son and grandson for many years
He was born April of 1928 in Milford to the late Vincenzo and Annie (Sollecito) Lioce and attended Milford Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and had once been assigned to an Honor Guard for General Douglas MacArthur in Japan.
Rudy was a family-oriented man who enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and liked taking trips to the Cape. He was a Patriots and Red Sox fan, a member of the Hopedale Pistol Club and, in earlier years, liked hunting and snowmobiling.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Madeline, he is survived by his children, Rudolph V. Lioce, Jr. and his wife Susan of Milford, Jean Marie Simmons and her husband Frederick of Milford, Denise A. Farrell and her husband David of Mendon and Diane M. Norris and her husband Tom of Whitinsville; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday Oct. 25, 2018 from 5 – 8 PM in the BUMA-SARGEANT FUNERAL HOME, 42 Congress St., Milford.
Funeral services will be Friday Oct. 26, 2018 at 9 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter St., Milford.
Burial, with full Military Honors, will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rte. 109, Milford.
