On Thursday March 11, 2021 at approximately 8:42 p.m. Milford Police Officers investigated a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Applebee’s Restaurant located on Medway Road and a related crash at the intersection of East Main Street and Prairie Street where a pickup truck crashed into another vehicle and the building at the Enterprise Car Rental at 176 East Main Street. At 8:42 p.m. Officer Motuzas while on patrol heard a loud crash in the area of Medway Road and East Main Street. He responded to investigate the noise and found a gray Dodge Ram pickup with the front of the vehicle into the post of a traffic light and a gray Subaru with heavy front end damage pushed into the building at 176 East Main Street where Enterprise Car Rental is located. The officer observed several people run behind Enterprise down Prairie Street. The officer radioed his observations to dispatch and several officers responded. A very short time after he heard Dispatch send some units to Applebee’s for a report of a male running into the establishment saying that he was being shot at by people in a pickup truck. The officer checked on the driver and infant in the Subaru who were still in their vehicle. EMS responded to check on their condition.
With the assistance from several citizens including an off duty police officer, Officers were able to locate two suspects hiding in the rear of Hyundai in a heavy wooded area and take them into custody. Investigators learned through the investigation that the pickup truck was chasing another vehicle from the Applebee’s Parking lot when it crashed. One of the victims remained at Applebee’s with his vehicle. Officers found a large amount of marijuana and weapon in the pickup truck at the crash site believed used at Applebee’s parking lot. In addition there were shell casings found in the parking lot. A second reported victim who was being pursued by occupants in the pickup truck reported the occupants in the pickup flashed a gun just before crashing on East Main Street. This victim also reported being pursued by another vehicle which was described as a sedan with one headlight. He reported travelling at high rates of speed and eventually into Hopkinton to evade his pursuers. He was later was stopped by a Hopkinton Police Officer.
Arrested were Domingos Joao Teixeira Jr. age 20 of 13 A Street Douglas, Ma. 01516 and Robert Pires De Sousa age 20 of 12 West Maple Street Milford, Ma. Criminal Charges filed include:
A&B Attempt with Firearm
Leave Scene of Personal Injury
Drug, Possess to Distribute Class C
Assault w/Dangerous Weapon
Threat to Commit Crime (Murder)
Possession of Deceptive weapon device during commission of crime
The investigation is continuing and ongoing by the Milford Police Detective Unit. I commend all the officers who worked hard and together as a cohesive unit in apprehending the two individuals under dangerous conditions. I’d also like to thank other officers from Medway, Sherborn, Hopkinton as well as the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services for assisting us during the investigation.
