Amped Up Promotions is proud to present a rare local appearance from singer/songwriter Ellis Paul at Memorial Hall in Milford, MA on Sunday March 13th, 2016.
Ellis Paul has been travelling the country performing 200 shows a year for over 20 years now. His music echoes his life and other relatable observations through stories and urban folklore. In his official biography Ellis refers to himself as a nomad, traveling and writing and performing “until I’m gone”.
With 19 studio albums, inclusions on soundtracks and multiple awards, including 15 Boston Music Awards, Ellis Paul is a folk hero for the Baby Boomer Generation and the wisdom-fueled, cool uncle of Generation X. Kristian Bush and Brandon Bush of the pop country duo Sugarland produced his latest catalog addition, Chasing Beauty. The Sugarland band also serves as Ellis’ backing band on the 14-track album (yes, it’s available on vinyl). This highlights the vast musical influence of Ellis and his music.
“As local promoters we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that our community is rich in artistic diversity”, explains Amped Up’s co-founder Ray Auger. “My partner Tim has been following Ellis from the start and we are very excited to be bringing him to Milford for this unique show.”
Ellis’ show at the historic and intimate Memorial Hall in Downtown Milford will be his only Central Mass performance according to his website calendar. Local favorite Gay Barboza will be opening for Ellis.
For ticket information and more information on the show visit Amped Up Promotions on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AmpedUpPromotions. General admission tickets are only $25 and there is limited seating.
ABOUT ELLIS PAUL
Ellis Paul is one of those gifted singer/songwriters. Though some may refer to him as a folksinger, he is more, for lack of a better word, a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. The exhilaration of the open road. A celebration of heroes. The hope for redemption. Descriptions of those things that are both near and dear. The sharing of love..., intimate, passionate and enduring.
ABOUT GAY BARBOZA
Gay Barboza is a singer/songwriter from Southeastern Massachusetts. Writing songs all of her life, she performed in bands and acoustic duos until she went solo in 2012. In 2014 Gay won Best Local Solo Acoustic Artist at the WMRC Local Music Awards.
