A Mass planned for September 20th at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church in Milford will conclude the year-long anniversary celebration of “135 Years of Catholic Education in Milford and the 40th Anniversary of Milford Catholic Elementary School”. The Mass will be followed by a reception in the Bell Tower Room and tours of MCES, in the former Sacred Heart School building. Alumni from Sacred Heart Elementary School, St. Mary’s Elementary School, St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School, as well as alumni from MCES are cordially invited to this celebration. Friends, family, and alumni are welcome to reconnect and reminisce about the “good old days", tour the school, and review the memorabilia and photos on display. Sacred Heart Church and the Bell Tower Room are both handicapped accessible by an elevator, located between the school and the church at the base of the Bell Tower.
Fr. Richard Scioli, one of many distinguished alumni and Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, will be the main celebrant for this special Alumni Mass in the newly renovated church located next to MCES at 7 East Main Street.
This event will conclude MCES’s year-long 40th anniversary celebration which began last September with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church for over 100 alumni, followed by a tour of the Consigli Construction Company office, which was the former St. Mary’s Elementary School building. Over 260 alumni attended the Milford Catholic Alumni Banquet which was held on April 11, 2015. Principal Marie Sciretta said “It was a wonderful evening where everyone found long lost friends and classmates. It is obvious that many graduates from Milford’s Catholic schools have a special bond that will never be broken.”
