By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies will be holding testimony again today on several bills, aimed at shaping and regulating the Sports Betting Industry in Massachusetts. State Representative Brian Murray of Milford is a member of the committee, which is hearing testimony from numerous stakeholders, including the Gaming Commission, the State Treasurer, the State Auditor, all of the casinos in the state, Draftkings as well as representatives from Major League Baseball, the Red Sox, the National Basketball Association, the Celtics, the National Hockey League Players Association and the National Football League Players Association. One issue discussed yesterday, dealt with placing wagers on collegiate sporting events the Governor's proposed bill would prohibit such bets. Murray says the committee he’s on, is working towards putting the best plan or bill up for consideration and passage and he says this will be a major bill and the leadership of the House, Senate and the Governor are all looking for it to pass.
