Dear SMS Parents and Families,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this letter to inform you I have made the difficult decision to step down from my role as Principal of Stacy Middle School. It has been a pleasure to work with the Stacy staff, parents and students -- together we made outstanding things happen in a short period of time. I had so many ideas for this school when I arrived and am happy to see several of them through to fruition. After collaborating with the tremendous staff to improve the school’s overall wellness and safety, equity and access, teaching and learning, I transition from this role with great hope for the continued progress I know this school community will make.
I will miss my work with our school community, but will truly miss our students. I will miss greeting students outside in the morning and giving out high-fives. I will miss stopping in classrooms to observe students share knowledge and work collaboratively to solve problems. Yet, with all that I will miss, I look forward to hearing great things about our students’ future endeavors and accomplishments.
My experience at Stacy Middle School has been a time of growth, collaboration and progress. I have learned so much in the time that I was granted to lead this school. I am grateful and honored to have worked with such exceptional students, staff and members of the external Stacy Middle School Community. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
