By MyFM's Rick Michaels - As the residents of Milford continue to rally in support of it’s police chief, with another letter in support of the renewal of his contract appearing on the police department’s facebook page yesterday. Support for Milford Police Chief Tom O’Loughlin continues to grow and become more evident, now four-months from the announcement by the Board of Selectmen, to let the chief’s contract expire at the end of June. Earlier this week at the Selectmen’s meeting former Selectman John Seaver read a statement composed by six former selectmen, saying the situation has caused a distraction to the Board, Police and the town and is not in the best interest of the town. Seaver along with other former selectmen John Pyne, Marie Parente, Sal Cimino, Dino DiBartholomeis and Reno Deluzio feel the legal and investigative costs will present a financial burden to the town and could cost in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. They asked the Board to consider reconsidering a final three-year contract renewal for Chief O’Loughlin to hopefully reach a compromise.
