The American Red Cross Is Recognizing The Milford Regional Medical Center For Collecting More Than One-Thousand Units Of Blood Last Year

By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The American Red Cross is recognizing the Milford Regional Medical Center for collecting more than one-thousand units of blood last year at the hospital’s Blood Donor Center. The dedicated donor space at Milford Regional, which opened two-years ago has since enabled the Red Cross to run scheduled blood drives, three or four times a month, as well as additional drives when there’s a special need for red cells. The hospital transfuses about three-thousand red cells annually.  And now with the American Red Cros’s Blood Drive Partner Journey, donors are able to know where their collections have been used not only at Milford Regional but also at various hospitals located throughout Boston and the north and south eastern parts of the state.
