By MyFM’s Rick Michaels - The Economic Development Committee in the town of Upton is creating a process to gain input from residents, on the revitalization of historic Upton Center, which will include a forum to be held later this month. The EDC has engaged a professional facilitator who has worked with Upton in the past, to help gain consensus on what the revitalization of Upton Center should include. Volunteers will be needed to form a Working Group of 30-40 citizens, who will meet with the facilitator between February and April, to discuss and create conceptual plans for the revitalization. Which will include among other properties the former Holy Angels Church, the Risteen Building and a condemned building behind the Risteen building. The Working group will then present it’s findings at the Annual Town Meeting in May, where it will be discussed further and decisions can be made to move forward. The Forum will be held on Wednesday night January 23rd, at the Upton Town Hall.
