By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Franklin Town Council will meet tonight under legislation for action, the Council will vote to rescind the authorized, but unissued balances remaining on various capital projects, which are now complete with no remaining financial liability. Under the resolution the unissued balances, totaled $2.4 million for school feasibility $3.3 million for the new High School construction and $1.2 million for the Library Reconstruction. Also to be voted on tonight Town Administrator Jamie Hellen, at the request of the Superintendent of Schools in Franklin, Sara Ahern will recommend the Council amend the Fiscal Year 2020 budget, to increase the school department budget by $102,000 thanks to a more favorable State budget towards the town of Franklin. This would eliminate the need for a $150 per student parking fee at the High School and add two Kindergarten Educational Support Professionals. The Council will also review a license transaction whereas the Chateau Restaurant of Franklin would secure a new All-Alcoholic Beverages Restaurant License at 466 King Street formerly Joe’s American Bar and Grill. There are several Chateau Restaurants, originating in Waltham in the 1930’s featuring Italian Food. The company is planning on performing about $850,000 in renovations on the inside and outside of the property.
