By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says the West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitos, collected in Holliston. The town now has a positive West Nile Virus mosquito sample, it was located in the south-east quadrant of the town. There’s no current level change, Holliston remains in the high risk category already for Triple “E”. The West Nile Virus can infect people of all ages, but those over the age of 50 are at a higher risk for severe infection. Once again a reminder to limit outdoors activities from dusk to dawn peak mosquito biting times, but if you notice mosquitos around at any time, move indoors. After this recent rainfall make sure again, there’s no standing water anywhere in your yard.
