By MyFM's Rick Michaels - The Milford Democratic Town Committee will hold a luncheon this weekend, to honor longtime Milford Police Chief Tom O’Loughlin, who has served as Chief since 2001. According to a media release the Milford Democratic Town Committee says Chief O’Loughlin has served the community well and creatively, he’s proven himself invaluable in the fight against crime with the crime rate last year reaching it's lowest level in a decade. Pointing to his work tackling the Opioid Epidemic, with the Milford Police Department being one of the first in the state to provide Narcan to all police officers, to prevent deaths from drug overdoses. Several speakers will focus on a theme of transparency and inclusion in government. Scheduled to speak, is State Representatives Brian Murray of Milford and Jeffrey Roy of Franklin, as well as the candidates in Milford’s Annual Town Election on Tuesday. The brunch will be held on Sunday from 11am-2pm at the Crystal Room in Milford.
